HELLO
Welcome! I'm a garden lover and perpetual fixer-upper, currently reimagining the landscape around our 1930 Tudor revival on the corner of Cherokee Drive and Oneida Place. With each season I've let the house speak first, its architecture setting the tone for what the garden wants to be. Clipped boxwood hedges and romantic English roses, a blend of structure and softness that brings me joy.

As I've worked to recreate my own garden spaces, I've found endless inspiration in the quiet beauty of neighboring yards. Tucked away borders, heirloom perennials, and graceful old oaks made me realize just how much charm Nakoma has to offer, and how little of it is showcased. That's what sparked the idea for the Nakoma Garden Tour (well that and the other neighboring garden tours); a way to celebrate the creativity and care happening right here at home.

My next project is a long English style border, a place where I can mingle cottage garden favorites and native plants. It's a work in progress, with a lot of weeding ahead, but I can't wait to share it with you.
Warmly, Nikki Hansen
